2013 Ford Flex.

Spy photographers have managed to snap a fairly clear look at what the next iteration of the Ford Flex will bring to the table. If these photos are any indication, the crossover will wear a mild facelift that includes updates to the vehicle's grille, fog lights and front fascia as well as new badging.  Expect to see new brightwork surrounding both the grille and the vehicle's Ford headlights along with a restyled bumper cap. If that's not pulse-quickening enough for you, it looks as if Ford will also roll in a new fog-light design with a slimmer housing.
 The rear of the vehicle will also receive a quick nip and tuck with a reworked bumper cap. We're guessing the rear hatch area may see some attention as well given the heavy camouflage present on this particular test vehicle. Word has it Flex buyers will also get a shot at MyFord Touch for the first time when the vehicle makes its way to dealer lots. Stay tuned.

With Ford stepping up to become the first automaker to support the Safe Drivers Act of 2011, the Blue Oval is putting its money where its mouth is by dropping the price of its Sync system from $395 to $295.
 The updated pricing will extend first to the 2012 Explorer and Edge, and will be available on all trim levels of the Edge, with the SEL, Limited and Sport models coming standard with the system and the SE now available with Sync as an option. The pricing will later extend to the 2013 Escape, Flex, Focus and Taurus.
 In addition to the standard infotainment and navigation functions, Ford is touting the hands-free capabilities of Sync as a safety feature, along with 911 Assist and the Sync Services subscription plan which includes turn-by-turn directions, traffic reports and business searches, all of which can be performed without ever taking your eyes off the road.

Ford Kuga.

Detroit 2011: Ford To Introduce Kuga/Escape Concept at Detroit Auto Show. Ford is said to unleash a near-production concept of the next-generation Ford Kuga / Ford Escape at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show in January.  The move will further consolidate Ford's vehicle line with yet another global car that should be on sale in late 2012 as a 2013 model. The name, however, is up in the air. Ford has not committed to Kuga, Escape or a new name entirely, but the One Ford strategy demands one name per vehicle. See: Fiesta, Focus.
This strategy may backfire, however, if they go with Kuga: Bostonians everywhere will assume they've named the new SUV after a large mountain cat / old Mercury.
Production for the new world-SUV is rumored to be at one of Ford's US production facilities with Louisville, Kentucky running out front.

Ford will add all-new 1.0 litre EcoBoost three-cylinder petrol engine to the model line-up. The engine is developed in Europe and it is the smallest one Ford has ever built. Furthermore, the manufacturer confirms that its next generation of hybrid vehicles, including the C-MAX in 2013, will have a Ford-designed, engineered and built transmission.
The 1.0 litre EcoBoost has the same performance as a four-cylinder, but with much higher fuel economy and lower emissions.
“No one has ever built a three-cylinder engine quite like this.It’s one of the most technically advanced and efficient engines we’ve ever designed,” commented Joe Bakaj, vice president of Global Powertrain Engineering.
“The new engine introduces many new technologies that could be part of the DNA of future Ford engines.”, he added.
The all new 1.0 litre EcoBoost will be offered with the 2012 Ford B-Max, but full details of the new power unit will be released in September at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
